Academics
We are developing an enhanced shared curriculum for all five campuses, with established academic benchmarks. A new Catholic Faith Formation curriculum is being developed for all grade levels. The average class size across the five campuses is as follows:
| Pre-K to K1: | 15 students per class |
| Grades K2-3: | 20 students per class |
| Grades 4-8: | 25 students per class |
Pope John Paul II Academy will offer ALL students an exciting standards-based core curriculum that is coherent across the pre-k to grade 8 continuum of educational experiences. Teachers, using research-based best practices, will engage students in units of study that will not only teach students a solid foundation of literacy and numeracy skills, but will also push students to develop their critical and creative thinking abilities in order to solve problems and achieve life long skills. The curriculum will offer strong Catholic values throughout and our instruction, and assessment programs will increase rigor in order to further academic achievement.
In addition to the strong academic environment and catholic faith formation the school day will offer physical education, music and art.
The learning environment will be enhanced by state- of- the- art school buildings which will be renovated or built over the next 3 years. The school campuses will offer science labs, music and art rooms, gymnasiums and cafeterias.
After school programs such as drama and sports will be expanded so that all children can develop their own personal talents along with a strong educational foundation.
Pope John Paul II Catholic Academy will offer every student the opportunity to succeed.
